This unnamed piece is pretty much finished besides getting advice from the mentors on the vt midi site. It is a string quartet that starts out with a minor and solemn sound at the beginning and then slowly modifies into a more upbeat, fun section. It still needs a lot of work, but all of the writing is done for now.
Ok, so at the beginning you're looking for a wispy three-note introduction. Perhaps make those notes long, and then make the chord more open after the cello comes in. When the viola gets the melody, perhaps check to be sure the violins don't get in the way - at m36, when they come back in, be sure they start very softly, maybe with a crescendo, or it may be very shocking. Great bassline at m46. I also love the melody with the violin 2 and viola. Could it be developed even more after m78? Perhaps different rhythms, harmonies, or instruments with the melody. I enjoy the triplets starting out in one instrument, then being passed on, but I want EVEN MORE triplets! I can hear the passing into the whole quartet. Nice coda, too, bringing back the bassline. Overall, make sure you have dynamics and articulations where you want them.
